Use three lanes to sort safety, system, and scope

Identify people, pets, electricity, hot surfaces, sewage, gas concerns, falling material, and uncontrolled water. Use the proper emergency or utility route when necessary. Record only actions that can be performed from an ordinary safe location.

Name every affected fixture, the order symptoms appeared, whether hot and cold differ, and what other fixtures do at the same time. This pattern helps a plumber plan an inspection without pretending the obstruction or leak location is known.

Ask for the inspection boundary, repair option, exclusions, license, permit role, price method, and changed-condition rule. Keep another-trade or municipal handoff on the board until that party closes it.

Place the next decision in the center: isolate, observe, call a licensed plumber, check the town, contact another qualified party, compare proposals, or close the record. A deadline belongs beside its source, not beside a general urgency claim.
