Decision to make
List affected fixtures and whether cold, hot, or both differ. Record time of day, simultaneous use, recent work, filter or treatment equipment, visible leaks, and verified town notices.
Record to build
Do not infer galvanized piping, scale, a bad regulator, meter issue, or main condition from age or neighborhood. Use records and qualified measurements to replace unknowns.
Question to compare
Ask what static and flowing observations are relevant, where they can be measured safely, how the water service, meter, main valve, treatment, heater, and fixture restrictions are separated.
Useful closeout
Keep measurement location, device, date, fixture state, provider, town response when applicable, repair boundary, and post-work comparison. A single unlabeled number has little future value.
